Mole National Park
Established over 50 years ago, Mole National Park is Ghana’s largest game reserve. Home to a wide range of animals, the park is most well known for its bird species and population of elephants. Protected by a staff of rangers, Mole is a wonderful place to explore the African savannah and bush. Take a safari walk or drive and you’re sure to be swept away by the beauty of this park.
Between Wa and Tamale, Mole National Park is located almost entirely in the Northern Region of Ghana. The park includes parts of West Gonja, Sawla, Tuna, Kalaba, Wa East and West Mamprusi districts. Access to Mole National Park is by road. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to drive from the city of Tamale where the closest regional airport is located. After heading west, turn at the Fulfuso Junction, drive past Damongo, turn right at Larabanga, and you will reach the entrance to Mole National Park!
